Senior Schools
Springmead School is the only truly independent school in our local area, which means that our children have the opportunity to apply to the next school that is 'right for them' rather than an onward journey on an established pathway from prep to senior school. This means they can apply for a full range of scholarships and bursaries available at a host of different schools as they are external, much sought after, candidates.
Senior independent schools very much court our children. Warminster Senior School Head, Matt Williams, commented during his visit to Springmead, on the well rounded, academic, confident nature of our graduates.
We support children through senior schools' rigorous admissions processes, starting in Year 5 with a presentation for parents on expectations and guidance navigating the scholarship and bursary application process.
Experienced teaching staff at Springmead ensure that every child makes the most of the opportunities available to them during their time at the school, to give them the best chance of entering a local, selective independent school.
We will thoroughly prepare your child for entry to a senior school that is right for them; we will give you guidance as to which school might be the best for your child, and we will ensure that the transition is as smooth and effective as possible.
Senior School Destinations
Over the last five years, the following numbers of pupils have moved on to the independent schools listed below:
Warminster School: 8
King Edwards School: 6
Royal High School: 3
Kingswood School: 2
Monkton Combe School: 2
Bruton School for Girls: 1
What's more, a number of pupils have won scholarships to their independent school of choice, thanks to the expertise of the Springmead teaching staff who have guided them through the application process.
We have very close links with both the local independent and state schools, which means that we will be able to help you choose a school for your child based not only on their academic ability but also on the environment they will best suit.
Importantly, our pupils are fulfilled, have a strong sense of self-worth and have begun to develop a life-long love of learning in their time at Springmead.
