Admissions Process
Reception to Year 6
Springmead offers places for children from Reception (age 4) to Year 6 (age 11). Most children start with us in the Early Years and continue with us through the school, but we accept children into any year group up to Year 6. Entry to the school can be at the start of any of the three terms in the academic year.
Entry to Springmead is non-selective. This means that your child will not have to sit through a comprehensive testing process, but that a basic assessment of general suitability will be made during your initial meetings with the school. Once you have visited the school and met with our Head Teacher, Mrs. Cox, we will invite your child to a taster day when they can spend time in their proposed new classroom. A class teacher will informally assess their ability in spelling, reading and maths, as well as their behaviour. When we confirm the offer of a place, a request to complete our registration form will be made and a non-refundable payment of £100 will be required. A non-refundable deposit of £400 will also become due at this point to secure your child’s place at our school. We will then agree on a start date and administer the paperwork.
